The programmes of international cooperation focus on the topics of income, climate change and migration. We operate in around 20 countries. Caritas Switzerland wants to further expand its commitment to disadvantaged people in the coming years. With the Knowledge and Quality Management Unit (since January 2020), Caritas Switzerland pursues the goal of further developing and expanding its competence in core and cross-cutting topics as well as in quality management.

Your duties

  • Responsible for thematic knowledge management, including development and application of approaches, methods and tools on the topics of climate change, climate adaptation, CO2 accounting, nature-based solutions in the context of international cooperation
  • Project-related technical consulting and support in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects
  • Provide related technical input to teams working on grants acquisition, business development, programme management, evidence and learning, advocacy and communications
  • Support capacity building needs of Caritas project implementation teams through designing and delivering training courses (face to face and on-line) and project management tools
  • Cooperation and coordination with external consultants and project managers
  • Analysis, development and feeding of lessons learned, innovative methods and applications and other findings from project work and science
  • Responsible for the practice-relevant thematic learning dialogue to strengthen the methodological and application competence of employees, project teams and partners
  • Participation in networks, in Switzerland and internationally

Our requirements

  • University degree or equivalent education, different disciplines possible, topic-relevant further education
  • Relevant work experience in the area of international cooperation (5-7 years) including practice-oriented and project-related advisory
  • High & proven methodological competence
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals and principles of climate change-related themes and methods, in particularenvironmental sciences, climate adaptation, CO2 accounting, nature based solutions in the international development context
  • Knowledge or experience in learning & development is highly desirable.
  • Competences in knowledge and process management
  • Publications in relevant journals
  • Relevant network
  • Conceptual, analytical as well as didactic & pedagogical competences
  • Very good written and oral skills in English, German, and French
  • Willingness to travel

Your place of work will be Luzern. The job will include short work assignments abroad. Starting date: 01.12.2022 or as agreed upon.
